Varanasi. STF Varanasi on Tuesday busted the gang supplying fake Kovidshield, vaccine and fake Kovid testing kits ready and arrested five in Rohit Nagar of Lanka region, from their possession a huge quantity of fake Kovid testing kits, fake Kovidshield vaccine, Fake Zykov D Vaccine, Packing Machine, Empty Vial, Swab Stick etc. have been recovered. The estimated cost of which has been estimated at Rs.4 crore. These medicines and kits were supplied to different states.
According to Vinod Kumar, Deputy SP, STF Varanasi unit, the field unit team was getting constant information about fake Kovid kits and vaccines. Based on that raid was conducted in a flat located in Rohit Nagar Colony of Lanka police station, Rakesh Thawani, resident of Siddigiri Bagh, Sandeep Sharma resident of Pathani Tola Chowk, Lakshya Jawa, resident of Malviya Nagar (New Delhi), Shamsher resident of Nagpur Rasda (Ballia) and Arunesh Vishwakarma, a resident of Bauliya Lahartara, was arrested. On interrogation, Rakesh Thawani said that he, along with Sandeep Sharma, Arunesh Vishwakarma and Shamsher, used to make fake vaccines and testing kits and supply them to Lakshya Java, which used to supply to different states through its network. According to the Deputy SP, legal action is being taken after interrogating the accused and collecting information about their gang. The estimated market value of the seized drugs is around Rs 4 crore.
