Lucknow. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi today released the manifesto of the youth keeping in mind the UP assembly elections. Many important promises have been made to the youth in this manifesto, released under the title “Recruitment Legislation” in a press conference held at the Congress headquarters in Delhi. These include promises from giving 20 lakh jobs to the reinstatement of the student union if the government is formed. Talking about her plans for the youth, Smt. Priyanka Gandhi said that the students’ union will be restored in the universities and colleges of Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, to restore the trust lost in the recruitment process, a job calendar will be prepared, in which recruitment advertisements, examinations, dates of appointment will be recorded and strict action will be taken if it is violated.
Addressing the press conference, Rahul Gandhi said that for the future of the youth of UP, the Congress does not have only hollow words, but a complete plan that how we will provide employment to the youth. He said that to prepare this manifesto, the Congress party has talked to the youth of UP and their aspirations have been included in it. Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Modi had promised to provide two crore jobs every year, but the reality is that lakhs of youth have lost their jobs because of Modi’s policies. The aim of the BJP is to bring a monopoly in this country, where by breaking the back of all small businesses, all the wealth of the country should be given in the hands of four or six capitalists. Congress party will not allow this to happen. Small small businesses are the power of UP, which generate employment on a large scale, we want to revive them.
He said that such a large number of people have lost employment because of demonetisation, wrong GST and corona lockdown. Congress can never do such things. UP was in the central role in the struggle against the British. Today the youth of the country and the state need a new vision. Only Congress can give this. BJP cannot give this vision. BJP created highest unemployment in 40 years. We believe that India needs a new vision. Targeting the Modi government, he said, the vision presented by BJP in 2014 has completely failed. Today only the people of BJP are saying that something is wrong somewhere.
Addressing the press conference, Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi said that the Congress party discussed extensively with the youth of Uttar Pradesh for making recruitment legislation. This recruitment legislation has emerged from those discussions. Today the enthusiasm of the youth of Uttar Pradesh is broken. We want to assure those lakhs of youth that how we will restore their confidence, how we will help them in providing employment to the youth. He said, there are five sections in the recruitment legislation, which focus on different problems of the youth. He said, if the Congress government is formed, 20 lakh government jobs will be guaranteed, out of which 8 lakh government posts will be for women. 1.50 lakh vacant posts of teachers will be filled in primary schools. In the field of basic education, the shortage of 1 lakh headmasters will be filled. 38,000 vacant posts of teachers will be filled in secondary schools. 8,000 vacant posts of teachers in higher education and colleges will be filled. He said that 19,300 posts of Anganwadi workers and 27,100 vacant posts of assistants would be filled, as well as vacant posts of Sanskrit teachers, Urdu teachers, Anganwadi, ASHA and police departments. Also, a seed start-up fund of Rs 5,000 crore will be created for entrepreneurs, in which priority will be given to entrepreneurs below the age of 30 years.
He said that there would be social justice supervisors for every recruitment to stop the scam of reservation. Along with this, the fees of all competitive examinations will be waived and bus and rail travel will be free to the examination centers to take the examination. Targeting the Yogi government, he said that the Uttar Pradesh government has reduced the budget for education. When our government comes, this budget will be increased and all colleges and universities will be upgraded. Along with this, a single window system will be made for pre and post matric scholarship in Uttar Pradesh and the scope and amount of scholarship will also increase.
He said that new opportunities would be provided for the employment of the youth. A world class institute will be set up for Mallahs and Nishads in which they will be trained. The youth of the most backward community will be given a loan at the rate of 1 percent interest to start their business. A center will be opened in Uttar Pradesh to prevent the increasing tendency of drug addiction among the youth and to take the youth out of the drug trap, which will counsel the youth. Apart from this, youth should be encouraged in the cultural field.
Responding to the questions of journalists, Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi said that our ideology is different. We will work for progress and public good. We are not involved in the politics of polarisation. The Congress party has no fear about giving tickets to women. If not today then tomorrow, it has to be done in every state and in the country that the participation of women is decided. It is necessary for this country that the public should be aware. This communal politics will continue till the people ask for accountability. He said that the public will have to be aware. People have to understand that the leader who will get votes on communal fights will be for you.
