New Delhi. After Bhutan, now Nepal has also given a setback to Patanjali. Nepal’s Department of Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine has banned the distribution of Coronil kits. This kit was gifted by Baba Ramdev to Nepal. The Nepal side has said that the coronil which Patanjali has described as useful in fighting covid-19 was not distributed according to the rules.
The Nepal government has also said in its order that the tablets and nazar oil included in the Coronil kit are not at par with other medicines to defeat covid-19. Nepalese officials have also referred to what was recently said by the Indian Medical Association, in which the association challenged Ramdev to prove that his product is capable of fighting Corona.
The Nepal government says that these kits were given as a gift, no decision has been taken on their commercial distribution.
The latest order is being interpreted as an attempt by the Oli government to distance itself from the Patanjali group. After last week’s cabinet reshuffle, Raghuveer Mahaseth has been appointed as one of the three deputy prime ministers and is also in charge of the external affairs ministry. Sher Bahadur Tamang has taken over as the new Health Minister.
Let us tell you that before this Bhutan has also banned the distribution of coronil kit here. Recently the Bhutan Drug Regulatory Authority banned the distribution of this drug. Recently Baba Ramdev had termed allopathic medicine as rubbish, after which the Indian Medical Association opposed him. Later, the Uttarakhand branch of the Indian Medical Association had filed a defamation claim of Rs 10,000 crore on Baba Ramdev. However, after apologizing later, the Indian Medical Association had said to withdraw the petition filed against Baba Ramdev.
